seems michael moore was using some of the same tricks the watchtower uses (taking quotes entirely out of context).

Typical and antitypical bible stories....

i was thinking of (just popped into my head)..of 2 bible stories.

1. daniel 6 the story of the king, who had to throw daniel into the lions pit, but was very unhappy about it.

anyways...daniel lived and the king threw the conspirators against daniel into the pit and they gobbled them up before they hit the bottom of the pit.

Oh, I think I see what you are saying. The story about the 2 kings who couldn't stop the persecutions for legal reasons..I think explains how Jeh. can help us with our trials, even though, at this time, he can't actually, miracleously dismiss them. I think it applies to all faithful people, not just me.. or a certain situation...

1. God will send angels...

2. He will help us be armed to fight ...

"28 do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.

they believe that the resurrection is the upcoming resurrection, but because death cleansed the resurrected ones of sin, it would be pointless to judge them on their past deeds, so "did good things" actually refers to what they did after their resurrection, and the judgement comes at the end of the 1000 years.

Yes, absolutely, agreed..This has always been something I disagreed with in the back of my mind.

Lookie here: Rom. 6:7 NWT "For he who has died has been acquitted from his sin."

A friend showed me that, the context is not literal death..Rom. 6:4 'therefore we were buried with him through our baptism into his death, in order that, ........

Not literally buried in the flesh but as far as having our old personality impaled with him..

Watchtower Does Not Consist Of Mens Opinions???

i have been trying reading crisis of conscience and i found a very interesting point that i thought i would share with you.

on page 234 of the book it is talking about the after effects of 1925 coming and going with the failed prediction that the faithful men of old would be resurected that year and they would be princes of the earth.

of course in the watchtowers famous "way" they put all the blame on the readers instead of on those who wrote the material.

I guess the answer is they want complete control...right?

What amazes me is that people just accept there are multiple fulfillments of prophecy. What scripture supports that assertion?

Hey there: Paul himself started the typ vs. anti typ thing.. note here:

Gal. 4:22 For example, it is written that Abraham acquired two sons, one by the servant girl irl and one by the free woman.....vs. 24 These things stand as a symbolic drama, for these women mean 2 covenants, the one from Mount Sinai, which brings forth chilren fo slaver, and which is Hagar. Now this Hagr means Sinai, a mountain in Arabia and she corresponds with the Jerusalem today, for she is in slavery with her children..............etc.

Heb. 6:20 Jesus, who has become a high priest according to the manner of Melchizedek forever.

Also, in Heb. 8 and 9. The whole chapters are talking about the symbolism.

Heb. 8:5 but which men are rendering sacred seervice in a typical representation and a shadow of the heavenly things; just as Moses, when about to make the tent in completion, was given the divine command: For says he: "See that you make all things after their pattern that was shown to you in the mountain. etc,,,,,

Dear Parakeet.

Interesting thoughts...about the bible, itself, actually being an idol. I am finding out that some things in the bible have been tampered with through the years, and mistranslated. I think that when we read it, we must be open-minded to the idea, that it could have been tampered with.

But I do think the original bible is from God. I believe the WT society is a 'golden calf' in the fullest sense of the word. The story of the the Isrealites making a 'golden calf' because Moses was delaying...and calling it, 'a festival to Jehovah'.. Sounds exactly like the WT to me.

Hello Headmath...

That being said about the 144,000 possibly not being a literal number. The way I see it is, that going to heaven is just a state of being at 'one' with God and Christ, rather than floating up into the sky. I also think that, when we put on the incorruptible bodies, they will be bodies, that will be perfect instead of the ones we have now; in the fallen flesh. And I believe that the 144,000 and the great crowd have the same hope, and that is life on EARTH>.. But that's just my opinion... Good night..getting late..here in Michigan..
